- 2 Lemons – Zest and Juice (zest is the outer coloured and perfumed rind/skin of the lemon that have been removed by using a zester or a potato peeler, being careful not to get any white parts as this is bitter)
- 2 Naartjies – Zest and Juice
- 250ml White Sugar
- 250ml Water
- 2.5ml Cinnamon Powder
- ½ Vanilla Pod – split and seeds removed
- 1bottle (750ml) Good Quality Red Wine
Place all the above ingredients into pot. Bring to a simmer, stirring continuously until all the sugar crystals are dissolved.
Move the pot from the stove straight to the Wonderbag, close tightly and leave for 4 hours for flavour development.
Remove from the Wonderbag, strain the gluhwein, heat and serve.
