CHILI HOT DOG
As a stand alone chili, this recipe is great to bring along camping or to potluck or picnic. But, we think that it is fantastic served chili dog style for the best of the best tailgating events. Be sure to bring your hotdogs, buns and toppings (cheddar and scallions-yum!) to serve!
- 1lb/0kg ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 14oz/397g/397g can crushed tomatoes
- 2- 14oz/397g/397g cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 package of Mrs. Dash chili powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp crushed basil
- 1 tsp parsley flakes
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- salt & pepper
In a 4 quart pot, brown ground beef in 1 Tbsp of olive oil. Add the onions and sauté 5 more minutes until they start to become translucent.
Add all other ingredients into the pot, stir to combine. Bring mixture to a boil and let simmer for 15 minutes.
Transfer your lidded pot to the Wonderbag and seal. Wait for a minimum of 3 hours, up to 8 hours. The longer you wait, the more the flavors will evolve.
Serve over grilled hotdogs and toasted hotdog buns with all your favorite toppings.
