French toast is one of my all-time favourites for brunch, but I do not often make it, as I am stuck in the kitchen making beautiful French toast while everyone eats to their hearts content! This is the perfect solution, and turns out like a French toast bake, layered with apple, caramel sugar, toasted pecans and poppy seeds! It’s started in the oven, and then popped in the Wonderbag for a minimum of 3 hours, longer if this suits you. I like to pop mine under the grill just before serving to crisp and brown the top. It is also very versatile – you can replace the apple with pear, banana, mango, or any seasonal fruit, as long as it is soft or precooked. Great served as is, or with natural yoghurt, mascarpone, maple syrup or cinnamon and sugar. For the recipe, go to www.wonderbag.co.za, click on recipes, then pudding (it does make a yummy pudding as well). Alternatively just click on “notes” on our Facebook page for the recipes.
